Hello, world

I’ve been meaning to start a personal site for a while. The usual obstacles: picking a stack, picking a domain, deciding the first post has to be something profound.

This is not something profound. It’s a hello.

What this is

Two things at once:

• Blog. Notes on what I’m tinkering with — homelab builds, AI tooling, cloud-native infrastructure, and whatever I’m reading about that week.
• CV. A living version of my work history — 15 years across banking, payments, and telecom R&D. Easier to keep current than a PDF.

How it’s built

Static site with Astro. All content is markdown. The design is adapted from a department theme I put together at Samsung R&D — I liked it enough to use here. No CMS, no database.

The whole thing was built in a few sessions with Claude — I described what I wanted, iterated on the content and design in conversation, and it handled the implementation. That’s roughly how I work now: I stay at the architecture and intent level, and let AI handle the scaffolding. It’s fast, and I find it genuinely enjoyable.

What to expect

Irregular posts. I write when I have something specific to say, not on a schedule. Topics will drift across:

• Homelab adventures — Proxmox, TrueNAS, self-hosted everything
• AI tools: what’s actually useful, what’s hype, and how I’m using them at work
• Cloud-native infrastructure and the day-to-day of a telco R&D environment
• Whatever I’m tinkering with or reading about that week
